The Great Eagles are said to come to your aid during times of great need. During the events of The Battle of the Five Armies, the Eagles carry Radagast and Beorn into battle against Azog's army. During Gandalf imprisonment on the top of the Orthanc tower, a Great Eagle carried him to safety. When Frodo needed them the most the arrived to carry him back to Rivendell after he had destroyed the one ring in the fires of Mount Doom.
