Considering events that have recently transpired, going forward Isengard Fantasy Shop will be instituting a new set of TCG community guidelines for the betterment of both the business and the community and in order to avoid the regrettable events of the past 6 months. The new guidelines will be based on the following three principles:
-
Respect your host
-
Respect your tournament organizers
-
Respect each other
Respect your host
Isengard Fantasy Shop is a private, for-profit enterprise whose staff, premises and other physical and intellectual property are to be treated with the same level of consideration and care that community member would treat themselves and their own property, if not more. As such, community members tacitly agree to the following if they wish to remain customers of the business and/or take part in the events and/or promotions that the store organizes:
-
Store premises are to be treated with respect. Littering is strictly prohibited. Community members are obliged to place all their litter in the appropriate litter bins.
-
Damage, destruction, theft or misuse of Isengard property or other assets will not be tolerated.
-
Isengard staff are to be treated with respect. Abuse, harassment and/or imposition of any other kind of harm to staff is unacceptable.
-
Isengard Fantasy Shop is always willing to engage with community members regarding an and all legitimate concerns they may have in a free and open manner. However, the business remains a private, for-profit enterprise and should any community member have irreconcilable opinions versus the modus operandi of the business, then they are free not to patronize the business and take their custom elsewhere.
Isengard Fantasy Shop retains the right impose sanctions on and/or to extract recompense from those responsible should any of the above terms be violated whether by negligence or malice.
Respect Your Tournament Organizers
All the tournament organizers are there to provide the necessary support for the smooth organization, running and maintenance of each relevant TCG community. They are under no obligation to do so by the business or any other third party but as enthusiastic TCG players themselves who have come to an agreement with the business as to how those services are provided. As such, community members tacitly agree to the following if they wish to remain customers of the business and/or take part in the events and/or promotions that the store organizes:
-
Tournament organizers are to be treated as Isengard staff by community members when executing their role as TOs with everything that applies to said status.
-
While Isengard likes to foster amiable relations and dialogue within the community, the TO has the final word at events that they organize and officiate at. Once a ruling is made, it is final.
-
Should any member of the community have a legitimate complaint or issue against a TO for whatever reason, then they are free to communicate with the business directly in order to resolve the matter.
Respect Each Other
Isengard Fantasy Shop is a fervent believer in growing and maintaining a strong and thriving hobbyist community. In it’s eighteen years of operation, the business has done all it reasonably can to foster said community through various business activities and providing its customers/community members with value adding products and services. This would not have been possible without the common understanding that we are all regular, fallible people and as such must act in a way that respects others and will in turn confer respect upon us. As such, community members tacitly agree to the following if they wish to remain customers of the business and/or take part in the events and/or promotions that the store organizes:
-
Treat each other as you would like to be treated. Comport yourselves in a fashion that renders you worthy of respect. This includes but is not limited to high standards of manners and personal hygiene.
-
No one community member is above any other. Remember that while your hobby is important to you, it is equally important to those around you. They are here to enjoy themselves too.
-
Respect each other’s property, all of it required some amount of effort or investment to attain.
-
Isengard Fantasy Shops expects a high standard of sportsmanship and honourable play from every single community member. Anything less is unacceptable.
-
Should any member of the community have a legitimate complaint or issue for whatever reason, then they are free to communicate with the business directly in order to resolve the matter confidentially and with discretion should it be required. However, the business remains a private, for-profit enterprise and should any community member have irreconcilable opinions versus the modus operandi of the business, then they are free not to patronize the business and take their custom elsewhere.
