The Holidays are nearly upon us, and the hype train for Flesh & Blood is not slowing down in the slightest. We’ve got tons to cover, from the World Championship, to Living Legend changes, the event schedule for the month, and more Heavy Hitting news!
December Armory Events:
We take a mini detour from purely Mechanologist promos for this month, as a brand new Young Merchant hero and their trusty companion are here to spread some Christmas joy to Armory winners.
- 1st place: 1 Cold Foil “Squizzy and Floof”
- 2nd-7th place: 1 Extended Art Rainbow foil “Liquid-Cooled Mayhem” (2 from each pitch value)
- The player with the most wins at the end of the season gets to take home one of the store’s playmats.
- The player that wears the most outrageous Christmas outfit during any of our Armory events gets to take home the Squizzy People’s Champion Playmat.
But wait, there’s more!
- All other participants in our Armory events will also receive random promos from past promotional kits.
- Each purchase of an entire box of Flesh & Blood (including pre-orders for Heavy Hitters) receive a rainbow foil “Squizzy and Floof”
- Each purchase of an entire box of Flesh & Blood (including pre-orders for Heavy Hitters) receive a playset of Jack-O-Lanterns (1 of each pitch value)
- Each purchase of Flesh & Blood products or TCG accessories worth €40 or more, receives a rainbow foil Christmas Promo Cracked Bauble
*The above promos are to be given out during the month of December only.
World Championship 2023:
The year’s ultimate competitive event wrapped up a few weeks ago in Barcelona, with a large number of us also attending, participating in the event itself and in side-events. With some noteworthy runs from Nikolas Kyriakou, who did a great job at the limited portion of the World Championship and made an absolute tear through Starvos in the Living Legend Battle Hardened event, with a 7-2 finish. Nicolas Lazarides nearly making it to day 2 of the Calling while also finishing off with a 10-2 side-event record, and the absolute legend Giannis Koumidis and his incredible fatigue Uzuri deck that dismantled nearly all of his opponents, ending the weekend with a massive 15-5 record. If only Nick Kyriakou was on the spice for the main event…
Everyone is hyped for our next trip abroad, and I have it on good authority that Pro Tour Amsterdam will be our next excursion, so start saving up, cuz’ we’re going to Holland baby!!!
The ultimate winner of the World Championship, after making it by the skin of their teeth into the top 8, battling through the nearly undefeated Yuki-Lee Bender (Iyslander), Aaron Shants on the format’s boogeyman (Dromai), and another competitor from last year’s World Championship top8, Shing Tsang (Iyslander), Greece’s own Alexandros Argyriou (Fai) took the whole thing down to rousing applause and cheers.
Living Legend:
A change we didn’t have the chance to talk about last month, was the increase in Living Legend points some of the smaller events grant, as well as a more frequent Living Legend threshold check. Now checking every Monday, and the effect applying on Friday, instead of every B&S announcement or set release.
Due to the the number of competitive events in the past couple of months and these changes above, we’ve seen many changes to both the Classic Constructed and Blitz landscapes.
- Classic Constructed:
- Lexi, Livewire and her signature weapon, Voltair, Strike Twice, has reached Living Legend
- Bulls Eye Bracers is no longer Suspended
- Iyslander, Stormbind and her signature weapon, Kraken’s Aethervein, has reached Living Legend
- Amulet of Ice is no longer Suspended
- Hypothermia is no longer Suspended
- Blitz:
- Kano and his signature weapon, Crucible of Aetherweave, has reached Living Legend
- Kassai, Cintari Sellsword and her signature weapon, Cintari Saber, has reached Living Legend
- Ira, Crimson Haze and her signature weapon, Edge of Autumn, has reached Living Legend
We’ve got one more week of Skirmish events that will add some more points to the Blitz format, but from the looks of things we won’t be seeing any other heroes reaching Living Legend, unless one gains an incredible amount of points.
- Dash: 363 points
- Dorinthea: 342 points
- Briar: 334 points
- Bravo: 308 points
Heavy Hitters:
The next set is set to release on Friday 02/02/2024, with a Pre-Release event happening on the 27th of January.
