Bring forth the Classics

Bring forth the Classics

It has been a long and fun road that has finally led our store to host its first Classic Constructed event! Don’t get us wrong, Blitz is great fun, and possibly the best way to introduce new players to the game without the daunting venture that is Classic Constructed. Still though, CC remains the best way to really experience the deep, strategic and fun gameplay that FaB can provide.

As a community, we have all embraced Flesh and Blood quite early on in its lifespan, but getting up to speed with its premier competitive format wasn’t happening any time soon. Many cards still missing from people’s collections, not many tools to practice effectively and few online resources to help kickstart our journey. We can all complain as much as we’d like about MtG, but if there’s something we have in abundance for it, it's quality online resources. Flesh and Blood by comparison is still quite niche, and finding the right answers for the many questions you will have is daunting to say the least. So speaking of resources, talishar.net is a community led project that aims to bring an automated FaB client to the masses, completely free of charge. It’s an incredible tool that only a community such as FaB’s could put together and LSS seems to be okay with (at least as of now). We strongly encourage you to check it out and hop into our discord server if you haven’t already, and test some games! An additional resource that I have found to be very useful, is my preferred decklist website, FaBrary. It boasts a lot more tools over the first such site, fabdb, and I really do find it to be leaps and bounds better.

Back to the topic at hand, we blitzed (and drafted) our way to yesterday, the 12th of September 2022, with the very first CC event at our store crowning the inaugural CC Armory winner to be Nicolas Kyriakou (seriously, can anyone stop this guy?), piloting Dromai, Ash Artist to a nice and clean 3-0 finish, and, for the first time ever, you can actually see their decklist here! We’re working on potentially having some FaB gameplay up soon as well.

This Armory event marked the last chance through which the Fai promo material could be won, taking us into the Dromai kit starting the following week. As always, you can check our schedule in the events page.

The Dromai kit, will award the winner of each Armory event with a Cold Foil Storm of Sandikai, and 4 other participants with an extended art Rainbow Foil Red Hot. Additionally, the player with the most points by the end of the month will receive the People’s Champion ‘Rake the Embers’ playmat.
Our little community is growing steadily, and we want to thank each and every one of you who fell in love with this game just as much as we did. Don't forget that you can always contact us about learning how to play any of the games supported by the store, or if you need some help finishing out your deck. Onwards and upwards and we have our fingers crossed for LSS to bestow us with some more high level events soon.
